As a Professor at both the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology<\/a> (KIT) and the University of Southern Denmark<\/a> (SDU), I lead two dynamic research groups focused on modeling, simulation, and data analytics. At KIT, I head the Systems, Data, Simulation and Energy (SYDSEN)<\/a> research group at the Institute of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods<\/a>, while at SDU I lead the Modelling, Simulation and Data Analytics (MSDA) research group at the SDU Software Engineering<\/a> section. Alongside my academic roles, I also served as a Director-at-Large on the Board of Directors of The Society for Modeling & Simulation International (SCS)<\/a> in 2019-2024, representing it on the Board of Directors of the Winter Simulation Conference (WSC)<\/a> since 2024, and am a Senior Member of IEEE<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My research focuses on modeling and simulation of stochastic systems, reliability modeling and analysis, and data analytics for decision support in various contexts. Prior to my tenure at KIT and SDU, I served as an Assistant Professor at the College of Information Technology<\/a> at the United Arab Emirates University<\/a>. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University \u201cOtto-Von-Guericke\u201d in Magdeburg<\/a> in Germany in 2005, where I was also a member of the Simulation Group<\/a> at the Institute of Simulation and Graphics<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally from Macedonia<\/a>, I obtained my Diploma in Computer Science from the Institute of Informatics (now Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering<\/a>) at the University \u201cSts. Cyril and Methodius\u201d<\/a> in Skopje. Having had the privilege of living and working in several different places, each has contributed to my understanding of what “home” means to me. However, there will always be a special place in my heart for Macedonia, where I grew up and feel a deep sense of belonging. I would highly encourage anyone who has the opportunity to visit Macedonia and discover its distinctive beauty and rich culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
